Free laptop distribution by the government, that's a pretty cool thing to do for the bright and hardworking students. Over 100,000 laptops were distributed to students of Universities in Punjab, Pakistan. The laptop distribution started in February 2nd 2012 and should finish in
the end of March.
Here are the specifications of the laptops being distributed:
- Manufacturer: Dell
- Screen Size: 14" inches
- Processor: Intel Dual-Core B950
- Memory: 2GB DDR3 RAM
- Hard Disk: 320 GB
- Free Laptop Carrying Case and Bag

The specifications of these laptops show that the laptops are more than enough for an average student and all the laptops come pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Edition which is nice of the manufacturers to include. This can also be a step for saving their positions in next year's elections.
Our nation has several problems which need to be addressed and this doesn't seem one of 'em. Although, we have to admit that this is really good for the students that couldn't afford to buy such machinery and will help them study and work more easily as well as connect with their friends.
